So a while ago I built a frankenstein machine out of a cheap motherboard I got new and a bunch of crap from old PCs like RAM, hard drives and even a network card. It was: (specs)

Spoiler

 - Atom D2500 at 1.86Ghz

 - 4GB SODIMM (2x2GB) - pulled from laptop

 - Some cheap plastic box and I used a nice looking momentary-switch ghetto mod to start it up

- 1 x 320GB HDD, 1 x 160GB and 1 x 120GB

- Some Qualcomm network card that required me to thoroughly scour the internet to get drivers for

- Total Cost <$75 -

The machine would bounce around inside the case as there was no moddable mounting holes and the back panel wouldn't fit the IO shield.

I moved, and the machine died in transit.

I RMA'd the board with intel and put all the components in a box for another day.. and today is that day. I ordered a cheap ITX case from my local PC shop and a PCI SATA card (as this was gonna be a home server, 2 x SATA2 isn't gonna do..

Now I wait for the parts to come in, get the parts for the build (board etc) from my dad and get down to business.
