Hey guys, this is my first post on this.

Basically, I'm looking to buy a new GPU. I'm interested in getting a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980Ti, but I'm interested on what you guys recommend for me. I don't want anything over $900 AUD. The reason i want to upgrade is I want something capable of playing VR games, and capable of playing games above 60fps across both of my 1440p monitors. (I also want to be able to have a stable 60fps while recording games)

Thank you guys so much :D

Below 900 AUD you won't find any 980ti's, maybe at around 950-1000 AUD range. Your best bet would be the still good R9 Fury http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100379sr .

Anyhow, why not wait for sometime until Nvidia comes with new GPUs this summer.

I can find multiple 980ti models under $850 AUD on websites like newegg and amazon tho

EDIT: I also prefer to get an nvidia model so i can use shadowplay and record much easier, but thanks for the recommendation :)

Yes, but they are American websites (Amazon Australia is just a book store). Shipping is going to be a killer.

Ok so i can't get a 980Ti, but what's the best nvidia card i could get for that price range?

980, though it's at a much lower price and kinda hard to recommend when you can afford better cards, any reason to need Nvidia?

I really want to use shadowplay instead of frapsp because it's much more efficient in space usage and doesn't hit the fps as much as fraps. I don't necessarily need it, just prefer it (if there's anything significantly more powerful i can get form AMD i'll be fine for that)

Thanks so much!

Anyhow you have got the R9 Fury or the 980, at what resolution do you play at now and do you plan to upgrade to another resolution anytime soon.

I will also remind you that Nvidia is likely to release something new in the summer in case you are prepared to wait.

I'm currently use 2 27" 1440p monitors (U2715H), and play games on one.

At this resolution the R9 Fury is usually better:

Thanks so much for your help, I'm going to see if i can squeeze another $50 or so into the budget to get a 980Ti in some way, otherwise, i'll see where i can get that R9 Fury near me.

EDIT: Just wondering, are there any clues to the price of the new nvidia GPUs?

Probably around the same price brackets, expect the new 1070 (or whatever they decide to call it) to be around 300-400 USD and the new 980 450-550 USD, not sure of the AUD prices. Nvidia should announce them at Computex at 31 May for release shortly (if the rumours are to be believed).
