I can't read what you just said. Please reformat the post.

umm, the product page says "Intel Z97 | Core i7 / i5 / i3 / Pentium / Celeron (LGA1150)", so no an amd cpu wont fit into an intel socket.

No, you cannot. The Z97 uses an Intel chipset, not an AMD one.

You're looking at the FM2+ chipset for the 860K.

FM2+ isn't a chipset. It's a socket. The chipset would be, for example, A88X which is a chipset that uses an FM2+ socket (Although it is NOT the only one). And Z97 IS a chipset.

So this would make more sense:

OK can you please tell me why you decided you wanted that CPU and that motherboard in the first place? Are you building an entirely new rig? If so, tell us your budget and what you want to use it for and we can come up with a compatible list of parts for you. Are you upgrading something older? Please, just some context to make this easier for us.

For your 860K?

Pick and choose which suits yours best - http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/motherboard/#f=2

However, if you're dropping $120 for a motherboard, you're better off getting an i3 with a mATX mobo.

2 1TB HDD 7200rpm
