I would like to be able to use my PS3 controller on my laptop when I'm on the go, because it's not only lighter than my Xbone controller, but you can use (maybe?) use it wirelessly without some fatass dongle.

My laptop has a fairly decent wireless card (Intel 7260 I believe), so it has Bluetooth 4.0 and all of that good jazz.

In my Googling though, I couldn't really seem to find anything concrete in terms of a program which would get things purring along nicely. Most of the stuff I kept coming across was either abandoned, or it just flatout didn't seem to work that well.

So I come to you guys in hoping that at least one of you uses their PS3 controller on their PC.

Oh, and since it might matter, my laptop is running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (with update, of course).

i've only got it to work wired with the charger cord. so not wireless but then you need a 3rd party app to remap the ps3 controller and honestly its pretty bad. because it just acts as a mouse and keyboard but the mouse is your thumbsticks and the keyboard is the buttons. so its not like how a xbox controller runs on a pc.

from my experience anyway

I've heard about this thing called MotionJoy, dont know if it supports ds4 yet. but it says there is some sort of wireless dongle

When I used a ton of console emulators, Mayflash's adapter was the only way I could connect my PS3 controller wirelessly to my PC.\

motionjoy requires you to be online to be able to use it while there is an offline mode but is still very buggy. To be able to use your ps3 controller to play games on pc wirelessly, you need to use a compatible Bluetooth dangle. IMO i use 3rd party software like motionjoy, xinput , and more but some games don't register the buttons correctly (e.g FF13-3, tales of zesteria) so i just purchase an xbox 360 wireless controller to avoid the hassle in the future.
