Maximus V Formula

Go to solution Solved by DrainDoc,

Didn't have an issue with mine, and still no issues.

Great board! Awesome on-board audio!

The chances that something will be wrong with your board

and/or damaged in shipping, I think is pretty remote.

Not to say it can't happen, because it has, and will again to someone, somewhere.

But the odds are with you for a good chance with no issues! Get the board! ;)

Hi all, I'm currently looking at the Maximus V Formula (z77) from Asus as my new board to go along nicely with my Asus Direct CU II GTX 780 and I have a quick question.

I have looked at the reviews and say good but from people buying it I hear it's hit and miss. (AKA Arrives at their house with problems) Could anyone assure me with like a Maximus V Formula that their board arrived fine and was working good without any problems. I really don't wanna spend 300$ and have to spend more to get it fixed.

RMA it if it comes with problems.

Things arrived damaged sometimes. It happens.

i've owned 3 of them and have not have a drop of an issue.. 1 used and two BNISB.

is it just an aesthetic purchase or performance as well? yeah, it is costly, and i found

that a MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming did just as well as the M5F, just no MOSFET water

cooling tubes.. had the same overclocking capability for a 3770k and 2x 8GB RAM

but easily less expensive.

It's mostly for aesthetics and I like the glowing red logo and the red line audio thing. But you said you have had no problems with the 3 boards?

I have this mobo and I have not had any problems.  Its a good board, the ROG product line may be overpriced a bit, but they don't churn out crap.  Their stuff is validated, tested, strained, and proven. Yeah you can find a bad one every so often, but if you get this mobo, you will most likely be very happy with it.

if you use two GPU, that light is never seen, and one  does cover it semi, but worked out just fine..

I have this board as well. Although, i wonder, since i use a Blue Yeti Mic, being that it has a headphone jack, assuming i use this jack for my headphones, would it still use the onboard SupremeFX audio or does it have to be plugged into the back of the board to do this?
