Steam help

I just finished my new pc and installed steam and every time I turn my pc off and open it again it reinstalls the update for steam I am running windows 100 0also any help?

Slow down there.

Steam does check itself when you turn on your computer. It says "Verifying [something]" in a popup window.

That's supposed to happen.

In msconfig, you can change the startup applications. Do you want steam to stop coming up when you turn on your PC? I can guide you through it.
