Spanned HDD volume appears to be losing files

Hi

I built my first gaming PC at Christmas and used an SSD as the OS drive, but as needed normal storage as well and didn't have 1 HDD with a lot of space, I decided to just use 3 in a spanned volume adding up to a total storage of 963 GB. They have been working fine until the last 2 weeks, every time I go to play a game it crashes and when I validate the files in steam some of them appear to have magically disappeared. I mean i wouldn't of thought so but is this normal for spanned disks, because I will get a single 2 TB HDD soon but I was just wondering if they are dying or something as i don't really want to loose about 850 GB of games.
