Cant connect to the internet

I have an old dell inspirion 521 and i tried to get it working but the only problem is, it wont connect to the internet, it has a dlink air adapter in it but it won't connect please help

Check drivers. Else check if there's a disable button.

The Internet is invented by cats. Why? Why else would it have so much cat videos?

Does the device show up on the system? does the air adapter support the type of wifi you use(abgn 5ghz 2,4ghz)?

Is the wireless on in the laptop?

Is there any wireless connection icon in the control panel?

Does it show anything wireless related if you do "ipconfig" in a command prompt?
