What Kushal said, although if Steam games are involved you can use Valve's own backup and restore feature instead of copying the steamapps folder. I find it's handy to keep a backup copy of games in case you need to reinstall, especially since the backup made using that is compressed so it's not so storage-intensive.

so just copy the whole disk to the nas everynight?

 

could i make a batch file for this? or is there a better way through one of the windows/3rdparty backup software?

There's number of sync software you can check out if you are so afraid for your files. Backupping everynight isn't best option. But something like file sync where you can select folders to sync and set how soft reacts on changes. I had one free software as test before I reinstalled windows and can't remeber the name for it. Google and some lists of those come.
