Nope they are made by Super Flower which is right up there with Seasonic, well at least the Lazer one I am looking at is.

Their other PSUs are known to be complete trash, their lazer series on the other hand seems to have a good reputation.

It's not really "overclocking". It just used for marketing to say that the protection to shut the unit off is set higher to allow it to function as a 650w Gold unit.

 

Nonetheless, the Kingwin LZP-550 is indeed an excellent premium unit based on the Golden King platform from Super Flower.

In my book, Kingwin is one of those brands I would completely stay away....but this "lazer product-line....just wow, amazing. The soldering done in the PCB's were pretty friggin' amazing (though the soldering on the modular connection PCB could be better). Those are definitely up on the same level as the 80 PLUS Platinum units from SeaSonic / Antec / Corsair.

 

As @quan289 said, the "overclock to 650W" is a marketing gimmick.

this is a premium unit and yes,it can be used as a 650W unit @ gold. all that kingwin have done with this unit is...changing the sticker .thats all. super flower quality . also the fan on it spins like once a month
