It might have been already asked, but I didn't find it. For some time I've been planning and saving money for a future update. Atm I have an FX-6300 on a 970 mobo (as you can see in my signature), and I don't know what to do. One of the ideas was switching to Intel (4690k), with a new mobo (around 350€ total). The other idea was Skylake (over 400€, as I need the DDR4). But, with what's being said about the Zen arch, I don't know what to do. It could be worth waiting, but I would still have to buy the new RAM, even with Zen.

So, while writing this, I think that Haswell might not be the best idea. Maybe Zen will be expensive AF (for the cpus with 6+ cores), but it could be worth it. On the other side, Intel is still Intel. Even as an AMD fan, I know that Intel will always be better than the Red Team.

I think that the best thing to do is to wait for Zen to be released, see what people think about it, compare benchmarks and then choose between Skylake, Zen or that 10nm tech Intel will release.

What do you guys think?

Thing is, I might be able to sell my current cpu/mobo/ram, saving at least 200€ :D
