i have a dell xps 630i with a core 2 quad q 9550 8 gbs of ram 750w psu and a r9 270x.

i notice extremely high cpu usage.

i currently have it at 3093.73 mhz on a fsb overclock . what could i do to take it higher . it freezes any higher at my current setting with no option to change voltage through nvidia performance panel.

what could i do or possibly change until i save up for a new mobo cpu and ram.

if you have no voltage control and it freezes if you push it higher then there's nothing more you can do

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB

I can bump the voltage to the fsb and core in the bios but nvidia cp was allowing people to do that on the forms i saw. many people were getting to 3.5+

Nvidia control panel is for your graphics card. Use the bios.

Tried had to clear cmos to get a boot to clear bios settings. rn im at 3.1 at a 1460 fsb. i think im gonna buy  a qx6800 for 30 usd and try my luck . or save up for a newer chip and mobo from micro center most likely amd.(200 with tax for a a10-7870k and a a88x atx mobo.)
