eGPU Performance

I'm considering to get a product called the EXP GDC which allows me connect a GPU to my computer. My computer is the Gigabyte Brix Pro i5 4570R which is a mini pc which has no regular size PCI-E connectors so my only option is to use the EXP GDC and connect it via the Mini PCI-E connector. Now my question is how much will this effect my performance? The Mini PCI-E is gen 2 and has the bandwidth of a PCI-E x1 of 500MB/s. Also, which of AMD and Nvidia would perform better at this lower bandwidth?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm thinking about grabbing the GTX950 FTW edition and wondering about bottleneck.

Aparently its around a 75% hit not sure yet because haven"t got it yet.
