Mouse Macros

Hia! I own the HP 5-Button Optical Comfort Mouse - not the best mouse but a good cheap one. I use it for gameing and would like to assign the two sidekeys to the numbers 1 and 2. However, I have tried Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft Mouse and keyboard center, Mouse properties, and (Don't comment, It was worth a shot) Logitech gaming software.

 

And what brilliant result did I get!?

 

Well, Nothing.

 

Are there any more things that I can try or is it simpily not possible and will be left going forwards and backwards on webpages...
