How could I store OSX applications on USB

XDroidie626

So I am looking to store some programs on an external thunderbolt or USB drive (3.0 of course), these apps will be ones I don't use too often.

Without using portable apps which may not be trust worthy, how can I do this? I have tried using USB to SATA and I cant get it to work with stuff like adobe software (Using trials)

Is this actually possible or is it built the same way as Windows?

Thanks

Just drag and drop the application you want to move from your "Applications" folder to your USB/Hard drive.
