Ipad2 glass broken

Okay so my GF broke hers sis's ipad 2 screen, and we are trying to fix it. 
I've found glass for less then $20 on amazon.com. 
QUestion is, have u guys ever tried? Is it risky, should i just take it to the store, or save money?
I am not engineer but i am not a retard, su suggest me
how much they could charge in fcking los angeles (everything so damn expensive)

i few years ago i broke my ipod 4h gen screen and the glass+digitizer i bought well it like many other didnt have little wire it needed so it didnt work and RIP my ipod, so id take it to a apple store or even take it to a mall that has a kiosk that will fix it.

 

better then buying a screen that doesn't have all the parts needed

I believe the ipad 2 screen is attached to the digitizer glass, you will need to get one with a screen attached. 

The ones that are about $20 will break very easily,  I'd talk to someone who repairs them as a business to see where they get their glass assemblies from.

I wouldnt mess with ipod, 
Ipad is pretty simple.
