Hello everyone,

I'm looking to get a set of good peripherals for my desk at work and I'd like some help. I've managed to find a good keyboard with my preferred style of switch but finding a office acceptable mouse that is well built with good features seems to be harder. I tend to prefer a heavier mouse that works well with a palm grip. The easy route would be to say "Oh just get an MX Master" but I'd like to know if there are any others out there that are comparable. My companies guidelines also limit me a bit. While I do work in IT, all software needs to be cleared so anything that heavily relies on configuration software isn't going to work. If I can set it up at home and then just plug it into my machine at work, that would be ok.

Anyone have any ideas?

Please don't flame me, but I know Razer's mice can do that. Set a profile on it, then unplug it while that profile is selected, all the settings from that profile would be in the mouse, even if you plug it in to another PC (unless that PC has Razer Synapse, then the settings may change). I'm using my Deathadder Chroma at work with my profile set for use in the office. The Deathadder Choma's palm grip is nice. The generic HP mouse they have here is horrid.

I tell my superiors "I can work faster if I use my mouse" response "um.. it's corporate policy. are you about to break policy?" FML

admittedly it is the main server PC, so I understand.. but its just peripherals :/

That might not actually be a bad idea, I already really like the feel of my naga. Set the thumb buttons to common actions maybe with the lighting off.

I've considered tracks balls too. I just can't seem to find a nice one that I can rely on.

You can the one of Logitech's MMO mice, the G600 series.  They have on-board memory so you can have simple macros without the software installed after setting it up the first time.

I've never considered that one. I'll have to get one and try it out.

If you're taking it seriously, then I should clarify two things (my post was rushed, I was on mobile).

-All recent Logitech mice have on-board memory (other brands as well, just make sure you know what you're buying)

-For on-board memory, you're a tad limited as opposed to having Logitech's software installed.  You can't have repeated commands (eg, I can't hold down a button and have the function loop continuously.), there's no predetermined list of common shortcuts (though you can make one yourself), etc.

That being said, I don't know what you actually do for work, but it should still be fine for you.
