More Ubuntu trouble....

So for you guys who commented on my last post I finally managed to get that to work but as soon as the installation finished and It rebooted all I see is the cursor indicator blinking in the top left of my screen... I can't type or write anything... any thoughts?

 

Current Build: CPU - AMD 5800K 4.2GHz w/ Stock Cooler :( | Motherboard - ASRock FM82A88 Extreme 4 Plus | Memory - Crucial 8GB Single Stick 1600MHz | GPU - AMD Radeon R7 260X 2GB | Storage - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM

Yep I downgraded it to 14.04 and it seems to be working, but I need an updated guide to the locations of certain config files
