First time builder help

Thoughts on this, i am a first time builder with a budget of about $1000AUD, i plan to use it for minor gaming and just as a general PC.

What you listed there is over 1000 AUD so I'm going to assume you're a bit flexible (which is good)

I stuck in the 6600k since it's only a bit more than the 6600

The case is really up to you, I stuck in the CM Force 500

Also, you can't use DDR3 memory with skylake (well you can but very few motherboards support it)
