The Problem - My friend's Mac Book Pro 13 in. mid 2012 is having boot problems. The mac sometimes boots normally but sometimes it fails to boot and gives a beeping code. If the mac doesn't boot it takes a long time for it to stop beeping. I am very confused by this because it seems random when the Mac will boot and when it won't. The boot code is three beeps followed by 5 seconds and then another three beeps. This code signals a RAM error.

What I Have Tried So Far - I had an extra kit of RAM that was compatible with this mac so I stuck that in there assuming it would be an easy fix of a bad memory module. After installing the new RAM I restarted the laptop several times and it seemed to be OK until a few hours later it crashed and failed to boot again. I pulled the RAM out and inspected the RAM slots for mad connections and blew out any dust with an air can. I used the AHT (Apple Hardware Test) and memtest to check the ram for errors and now errors were found. Also this mac is running a clean install of the newest version of OS X that I just installed.

My Thoughts - At this point I feel like it's something not related to the RAM, but I have no idea what it could be. Any ideas would be very appreciated, Thanks.
