yeah, if it is a 144hz monitor it will still work at 144hz, just no freesync

It will work at 144Hz but you need AMD to use Free-sync since Nvidia don't support it

So here in Norway where I live there seems like almost all affordable 144Hz monitors are AMD freesync monitors, and g-sync monitors are way pricier. I myself have a 980, and im planning to get 3 monitors. Is it possible for me to get 144Hz freesync panel and mabye disable the freesync to get a plain 144Hz monitor? 

What about some of these? these are cheaper and 144Hz. they're even the same resolution. I'd recommend getting them from komplett since they has the best customer service, and free transport over 1k. depending on where you live Postnord might take a while. took a month to get an AIO out to Gaupen.
