Help with new build

Hi guys,

I am planning to build my first PC and i would need some help picking the parts. This is what I had in mind: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HxgtXL

Is everything compatible? Could i get better performance for that money? Also could you tell me if the motherboard is ok? I don't plan to do any overclocking.

I've seen that there are a lot of implementations for the gtx 970. Which one would be the best?

Get a 390 and change PSU to something like a G2 or P2 series or even xfx.

@Becausei'mBatman Thanks for your reply. I am planning to do some gaming and also work which involves a lot of CPU and GPU Cuda computation. At some point i was thinking to buy a 1440p monitor. Would the 970 be able to handle it properly or the 980 would be a lot better? Also would text be to small at 1440p on 25 inch monitor?
