New Computer Build

Dutch

Since my computer isn't fast enough anymore and doesn't support any OS newer than Windows 8, I thought it was time to build a new computer. I would like the price to stay around the same and possibly go lower. I prefer NVIDIA Graphics Cards and Intel Processors. I also can't buy a ton of products since either the shipping costs too much or the products are not available in The Netherlands, which is where I live.

This is what I have come up with:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-6400

CPU Cooler: The one that ships with the Intel Processor.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133

Boot Drive: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" SSD

Data Drive: Seagate 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM SSHD

Graphics Card: GIGABYTE GTX 960 OC 4GB GDDR5

Case: Cooler Master N200

Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 520M

OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Thanks in advance.

My current PC:

CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8200 | MOBO: GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L 1.0 | RAM: No clue, I'll check later. | Storage: I'll add this to the signature later. | GFX: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB | Case: I have no clue and I will probably never figure it out. | PSU: No clue, I'll check later

I'll also add links later, if the pages for these products still exist.

Get Win 10 from Kinguin or G2A for around 30 bucks. I basically just switched the PSU and the SSD because both are big no-nos.

Having that GPU, I can't recommend it. Coil whine is audible even when watching some videos and fans are loud as hell.

I need S340. But more Define S'ish

If I were you I'd consider swapping that 960 for a r9 380, and also maybe upgrading that PSU to something a little more quality. Depends on your budget though.

Another tip I would give is to find a refurbished version of windows. In my experience you save about half the price.

The GQ is the cheapest, you can keep the 960 but the 380/x gives better price-performance.

EVGA is my go to brand when it comes to graphics cards because of their awesome customer support. RAM is RAM so I just chose a cheaper kit, but there's nothing wrong with yours. However, Avexir is a rather trustworthy brand, just like Corsair, Kingston and G.Skill.

That RAM is also complete overkill and you really don't need it.

Get an EVGA GS/G2/GQ instead of the CX500 and get an R9 380/X instead of the 960.

I have looked up some reviews and the CX500 doesn't seem to be bad from what I have read, so why should I go for an EVGA GS/G2/GQ PSU?

My current PC:

CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8200 | MOBO: GIGABYTE G31M-ES2L 1.0 | RAM: No clue, I'll check later. | Storage: I'll add this to the signature later. | GFX: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB | Case: I have no clue and I will probably never figure it out. | PSU: No clue, I'll check later

I'll also add links later, if the pages for these products still exist.

Mostly because of the capacitors the CX uses. They are only rated for 30c which means the PSU is not suitable for gaming systems. Might wanna check out this thread.

I haven't checked if it's actually compatible with my system, but is the Cooler Master G550M better?

Take a look at this tier list and pick a PSU you like from the tiers one to three.
