Monitors for surround setup

When you are picking monitors for a surround setup do the resolutions have to match? I am thinking of making a racing simulator rig using 3 monitors. I was wondering if all the monitors have to match as I was thinking of using a curved ultrawide as the center monitor for the wider field of view without encountering a bezel with standard 16:9 monitors on the sides. Does the resolution have to match between all 3 monitors, just the vertical resolutions, or does it not matter?
