I just bought an hp spectre x360 and the color display out of the box seems off (to me, it looks too warm).  I've been trying to calibrate it with quickgamma and the windows 10 display calibration to no avail.  Using quickgamma, when I try to adjust the red.green, and blue individually I don't notice any changes whatsoever.

I understand there are products you can buy that stick on your screen to calibrate, but I really don't want to spend ~$150 to adjust my display.

Are there any other easy-to-use (and free) programs out there that anyone has had luck with?

Look for ICC profile, this is profile created during calibrating with those ~150$ products you mentioned. This is a .icc file, you load this to system and its changes colors.

Here you can see how: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm#install

Look for profile for your monitor model. If there won't be any profiles, you can either ask for one on forums or try to find models that have similar/the same panel as yours and use their profiles. I did so for my LG 34UC98, I use profile made for Dell U3415W and it works perfectly and fixed poor default picture.

It seems like what I need is x-rite i1 pro 2, which I don't see on that list.  Do you know a different safe website where I can download that icc profile?

I tried downloading and applying one with x-rite i1 pro, but didn't notice any changes at all.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong!
