First question is why do you even? Really, BIOS updates are not needed until you have some problems running your hardware...

Seriously, don't do it if your computer is doing fine.

And if you really want to, please, read the manual, BIOS update process should be described there step-by-step. Okay?

I need S340. But more Define S'ish

the updated bios offers better stability, especially when the inital bios for skylake were rushed, you really should update them.

however i managed to work out the problem. the file what you download from asus is a .CAP but has to be .cap lower case for it to be rrecognized which isn't mentioned in the manual.

Try the Asus Windows BIOS Flash Utility, this allows you to flash the bios from within Windows.
I currently do not own an Asus motherboard so I've never used it before, though I've heard it works fine.

The Flash utility for your board can be found here: Linklelelelelink

 1. Select your current OS.

 2. Go to utilities and download the EZ Update package with all the other nonsens you might want to use.
 3. Install EZ Update and launch it, from there you can select to update your bios and the program (normally) should do all the work for you.
