Okay, so I had this 120 GB SSD, it's nice. But it's a little too small. So I went out and bought this nice Corsair SSD, with twice the storage space. I also have this Corsair SSD cloning kit. Can somebody please tell me how to transfer my entire SSD safely onto the new one, so it should work as my main drive, just like the first? I need it with the OS and everything. (I'll back it up to my extra HardDrive if needed.) Thanks. Any and all help is much appreciated!

Hey there mrjordann,

There should be a cloning software listed on the manufacturer website which you can use to easily clone your drive. The guys also suggested some third-party tools that can also be used.

Have in mind that the cloning procedure includes everything including any potential malware, unused files and logical errors. I would always advice a fresh clean install of the OS and all applications and games with that over a cloning procedure. You would then need to configure the remaining unallocated space in the Disk Management (after the cloning procedure is done).

Snip. Lol

Thanks. Now I have another question... Can I simply remove the old SSD, insert the new one, and still use my HardDrive normally? And, if for some reason, I need to put the old SSD back; can I just replace the new SSD with the old SSD and it would run just like it used to?

If the drive is used solely as a secondary drive you should be able to use it with any bootable drive on any computer that can read its file format (I presume it's NTFS). :)

If you have applications/games installed on that HDD and you clone the SSDs you should still be able to run everything from the HDD when using either of the SSDs without the need to reinstall anything. :)

The HDD should keep its drive letter and you should have no problems using it, especially if it keeps its SATA port. Otherwise you would have to assign it a letter, but nothing other than that. :)
