Hey all,

My roommate has a PS4 that he said I could use. However, he has limited space on the system HDD. Is there a solution where I can tell the PS4 to write and read from something like an external HDD in order to allow me to play whatever without compromising any of his limited storage?

Thanks.

Hey there ROVZombie,

Unfortunately, this console doesn't allow you to store actual games on external drives. you are free to store your profile and safe data on external drives as well as in the provided cloud space (if you have the subscription) but you are required to store the actual games on the internal drives. Luckily, the manufacturer supports swapping the internal drive so you can upgrade it if you need more capacity. :) There are even third-party manufacturers that produce banks that support large 3.5" drives in the console.
