I have a larger troubleshoot going on here with my homebuilt, which ran well since I got it a year ago. I have recently changed the main drive and the CPU*.

It's a mITX machine;
Asustek P8H61-I LX R2.0 motherboard w. updated to latest BIOS.

CPU intel i5-2400s 2.5 GHz*

PSU (can't remember name), 430W

8 GB of RAM, Corsair

nVidia Geforce 650 GTX, w. 2 GB of memory.

The problem is, it started to shut down while using it (Like if the power was cut), first in the middle of a game (Watch_dogs, which it ran perfectly the other 100 hours I have played it), and then again unexpected sometimes no more than 10 minutes on idle, which led me to thing it was a PSU problem.

I upgraded from a Intel Core Pentium 3.0 GHz, and cooled by an Intel stock cooler. My first question is, does the new CPU* require more power than the previous one, and should my current PSU be able to handle an i5?

I left the computer home by my brother, he's more hardcore to the PC stuff than I am.

Well, you kinda have to tell us what psu you have.

Any proper 430w psu shouldnt have a problem with that,

but there are some seriously crappy psus out there with made up wattage.

It's a Thermaltake Smart (80 Plus White Ranked) 430 W

I hope you didn't use pentium's  stock cooler with the i5

That would make it an overheating issue, wouldn't it? I haven't experienced overheating, not even with the stock one, and not after I changed that, along side the CPU. (relying on values from HWMonitor and in the BIOS)

Forgot to mention, I upgraded the CPU cooler to a Noctua NH-L9i for the 1155 socket.
