So im going to upgrade this workstation a lot so its fit for decent gaming, i have an a10 7800 3.5 ghz apu ,8gb ram single module, an r9 280x . but i have no idea which psu to chose, i need a psu that has the connectors for the 8 + 6 pci power connectors on the card, also i hear i need something with 24 amps from a 12V rail or something, but im just confused and have no idea which one to chose, btw is corsair a reliable psu brand?

They are good value units - good quality but not for serious OCing.

A Seasonic M12 would work, check out the Antec HCG, EVGA GS/G2/GQ/B2 and anything else in the PSU whitelist in my sig.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Also does the M12 have the proper amp output per rail or something?, can it support an r9 280x?

Of course it can. M12II EVO can support any GPU on the market with ease
