TV setup woes

Hello.

I have a TV setup that worked up until recently. When I try to launch a game, It shows up on my monitor, and says "out of range" on my tv. I have tried duplicating my displays, making the TV the main display and unplugging the monitor, but when I launch a game the TV still says, without fail, "Out of range". I then have to plug in my monitor and close the game for the TV to show my screen again. Please help!
