Hi, I need some help,

I am planning on building in a 6u server cabinet( haven't decided which one). I'm planning on putting in my PC, a file server, ups, and a switch. I don't need crazy amounts of storage or redundancy. I need a ups because I am in an area with occasional power outages( 10 times a year) and I want to not lose all my data when power outages happen. Here are some things I need help with.

Things i need help on getting. I have

  • Rack mount case and one psu( I don't need a redundant PSU) for the server( 2U so can fit in a 6u cabinet). I need at most 4 drives for server(gpuless) as my xeon has iris pro. and 2 for my computer. My computer has a low profile gpu:($200 Usd. for 1 psu( 400w at most), and 2(2u cases) This is one i have been looking at for the case. For the psu.
  • Ups, I need something with auto shutdown for windows server, and windows 10. Also It needs to be 1u ( $130 usd. but can go a little bit higher) One I saw.
  • Switch: 8 or 4 port switch ( Gigabit 1u) and rack mountable. budget($50 usd,) One I saw.
  • 6u cabinet( I don't have a lot of space. It can be wall mount( I will leave on floor, not wall mounted) or not(regular with feet. ( $150 Usd.) One i saw .
  • 2 1tb( or bigger if someone can fit it in My budget) hard drives( I dont need much storage, and eventually upgrade to 4 of whatever drive( $120 usd.) MAYve

Any better things or cheaper.

I plan On testing out windows server 2016 preview and hoping microsoft does the same thing( giving everyone who tested it a free copy) if not i guess I will go freenas or buy a copy of windows server. My motherboard has raid 0,1,10. I Only need raid 10 so I am fine. If someone can somehow figure out how to make cheaper or move something to make the server better I would be happy.

I'm not sure that the case will fit in the cabinet. The cabinet may not be deep enough. PlinkUSA has a short 2U case.

I would suggest go ahead and get the 9U version of the cabinet. Inevitably, you will want to add more stuff in the future.

I'm not a fan of Buffalo gear. TP Link business stuff has been solid for me.
