Upgrading RAM and SSD

Go to solution Solved by FAQBytes,

I am assuming it is an anti tamper device, so you should be fine, just maybe voiding your warranty.

Replacing the hard drive should be a straight swap.

Hello guys, im new here. So im planning to upgrade my 4GB ram to an 8gig stick and my hard drive to an ssd.

the problem is theres a (black tape?) covering it, the material is very sticky and easily peeled or cut.

so, is it okay top peel the (tape?), and what it is for?

warranty doesnt matter btw

sorry for the mspaint job lol
