I don't know. If you're in the EU you're entitled to a 14 day refund. If you bought from Amazon primary it's a 30 day refund.

Well I bought it on amazon, and do you think amazon prime gets any special privileges to this rule?

Amazon has some of the best customer service on the planet.

This is a CPU, but to their customer service, it is just a widget.  If you're beyond the 30 days, but not beyond 60, e-mail or call them and ask nicely "hey, it turns out I can't use this, it doesn't fit my computer, can I return or exchange this for the correct item?"

9 times out of 10, they are happy to take care of you.
