So I have had an ongoing problem my gaming PC before. I have two 4gb sticks of RAM in it, but when I look at my system hardware through my software, it says I only have 4gb total. When I try to troubleshoot and switch my RAM sticks around, my PC simply wont post. It turns on and all the fans work, but I get no output through HDMI or USB. I have solved this before by basically taking everything apart and putting it back together, But i was hoping to skip this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mobo: Asus z87-A

RAM: Ripjaws DDR3 8gb(2x4gb)

But if it worked before why switch? i mean of course it is "not good" that after switching it doesn't detect it, but if it works the other way around just stick with it.

Also you are using windows that candetect more than 4gb ram right? there are versions that csan only show 4 gb
