Ok, I have made what seems like thousands of forums on this but I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place here gtx 970 or r9 390... Now stop and read, I need a card that can record (thumbs up to shadow play) and one that can obviously play games nicely. But I need a card that will still work and stay relevant. So I need to know is it that much of a difference right now, and will it be that much of a difference later. Also, I am most likely only 1080p gaming but may change in the future. Thanks!

I was set on an R9 390 for my steam box then a GTX 970 went on sale and now has a happy home in my steam box!

xD alright can you tell me how it runs on games, because I have one shipped to me right now but am thinking of returning it because I heard that the r9 was better, I don't care about the price difference between these cards I need the one that will record gameplay better and age better.

The 390 is the more powerful card, no questions asked. The 970, while it is a great card, can't beat it in the price/performance metric. not to mention DX12 has been MUCH more promising on the 390.

So it is the better lasting card, but what about the nvidia drivers and how they work with most games? And I got the msi r9 and it only comes with 1 hdmi and 1 display port, is there a way to get more just in case?
