Adhesive thermal paste.

Any recommendations? I have a surround sound with a chip that over heats. I want to glue a heatsink on it.

I think what you are looking for is a thermal pad. It is used as a conductive material between a chip and a heatsink.

Only if there are some that are quite sticky. I can't have the heatsink fall off easily and short something out on the board.

He is talking about adding a small chipset kind of heatsink to a chip on the board. this is much different than a CPU cooler. Again, a thermal pad is what you want to look for.

I disagree. While some pads are adhesive, most are not and the thermal conductivity is nothing in comparison to thermal glue.

Awesome, first time I have run across actual thermal adhesive. I would guess you have to be extra careful due to it being conductive and could possibly short connections. I'll keep this in mind if I decide to do something similar in the future.
