So I looked at watercooling, and I want to o it again :p. I'm thinking of doing soft tube but then later making it hard tubing. This list doesnt include watercooling parts as it will come later. The CPU cooler until then will be a stock Intel lga1150 cooler of eBay :P The 970 is also in there only to represent a 1070 or 490 when they come out. What should I change? Thanks!

Well, I would look on EKWB to see what Z170 boards they have that support mono blocks, other than that, parts are good.

I'm planning on getting a 1440p monitor and I'm going to be gaming, programming and editing. I also want to buy watercooling and then upgrade to higher end hardware in the future like a 6820K

Well you're going to be better off focusing on a stronger CPU in that case, and a 5820K makes a lot more sense to do a custom loop with, and if your display is only 1080p a 380 will be fine until you can upgrade it, though I'd go 40" 4K when you upgrade

I'm going to get a 1440p monitor right away but the GPU will come when pascal and polaris come out. The Define S was also chosen and I picked the 650w PSU because it seemed like the best bang for the buck. I also don't need an HDD or CPU cooler as 50 bucks is not worth it if I'm going to change it right away. I also really like the look of HyperX RAM and it often goes on sale.

Ew. Just get whatever's cheapest man.

Otherwise the 5820K doesn't come with a cooler, but is going to give you a much better platform to build your PC on, and that PSU in my build is going to be better for the money.

If you want the define S then ya throw it in, Fractal's focus seems to be for water cooling

And that motherboard seems to have poor reviews over here, though I think most X99 boards have poor reviews, most importantly it doesn't USB 3.1

Right.

Also, should totally just make the jump to 4k rather than 1440p, the display would last you basically forever with a 40" 4k display

Wouldn't I need a 980ti/1080ti to run that for games at Ultra at 60fps?

You'd need a high end GPU from the next generation ya, but 1080p scales perfectly with 4k for gaming, so you only need a GPU for 1080p, and then you have 4k for the desktop and future gaming.

it's around $600 for a 27" 4k IPS free-sync display

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/lg-monitor-27mu67

$1099 for a G-sync equivalent, the pricing on G-sync 4k IPS displays is really screwed up
