whitch is better

nerdnooby

I was wondering witch people would spend their money on if they was building a gamming PC I've picked 3 mother boards that are roughly the same.

each machine will have the same PSU  and the same GRAPHIC CARDS and same SSD only the MOBO'S and CPUS will change

I tried also to get them with the same RAM but couldn't find a CROSSHAIR V that was ddr4 or one that was an extreme edition

so ive added ddr3

I'm not going to add a case in this as no matter what I pick some one will say I should have pick a different one

Defiantly dont go with the FX9590.

If you are exclusively gaming, then go with the z170 + i7 6700k.

If you are doing rendering or video editing then go with the x99 + i7 5960x

Also do you really need such a high end motherboard from the Asus ROG Extreme series? There is money to be saved there.

And 1500w powersupply? You can run 4 graphics cards with that and i only see 1 in your build.

Step down to a 650w from either EVGA's Supernova G2 series or Corsair's RMx.

Btw I dont think the Z170 platform supports quad channel memory, so get a kit of 2x8 instead of 4x4. (X99 supports quad channel tho)

I'd suggest not to go for the gtx 980, since it has the worst performance per dollar. The rest depends on the usage of your PC. If you are just gonna be gaming, then I'd go for the 6700k setup, but its pointless to go for a quad channel kit since z170 doesn't support quad channel (but if the quad kit of ram is cheaper that a dual kit, go for the quad). And the PSU...... why do you need 1500w ? 4 way sli perhaps?
