So recently I upgraded my CPU from an AMD FX-4100 to a AMD FX-8350 and noticed that my RAM wasn't being recognised in a certain way that was confusing to me because  the RAM was working before when I was using the FX-4100

  • I have tried looking into re-seating the RAM, looking in MSCONFIG, tried switching the RAM for different 4GB x2 Sticks that are the exact same but still no solution.
  • I have checked in the BIOS and it's reading 4096MB.
  • I have uploaded a picture so that you can see...

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 ( http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3645#ov )

RAM installed: 2 (4GB) sticks of DDR3 @ 1333MHz

Any suggestions are welcome. :)

The motherboard that you used is not officially supported by the 4100, and the 8350. The 4100 worked because it fit the specs required for the motherboard. The 8350 has a much higher power draw, and double the cores. You would have to swap out your motherboard. You can get any decent 970, or 990fx board, and it should work fine.
