Windows 8.1 random BSOD (THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER)

Hey guys,

I have a kind of annoying problem with my pc lately, it gets random BSODs frequently doesn't matter if idle or under load.

I can't figure out what's the problem. It is OCd but i get the bluescreen also when i restore to factory clock. The BSOD message is THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER.

I have taken a look at the dumps, but im not an expert so it didnt really help.

I have attached the minidumps and the perfmon report bellow.

If you could help with it i would really appreciate it.

Reinstall GPU driver. Probably got corrupt somehow. Use DDU to remove it and install 16.3

All right I give it a try. Does DDU remove just the currently installed driver or the previous drivers junks as well?

Thanks for the advice though!

It cleans it all

There was a problem with Radeon drivers awhile ago... that might be the problem here. But as @don_svetlio said, you can use DDU to uninstall it.

But if the problem persists, here you go...

The error states that the CPU is stuck with processing signals from device driver (which can be any device, but mostly it is the GPU).

Nothing to see here ;)

I've had the issue be the chipset driver and the USB port. Definitely everything is possible.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have DDUd the hell out of it twice... no luck, still crashing. I have even set everything back to factory clock and still had 3 BSOD in one week.

Is there any way to figure out which driver causes the problem??

Another strange problem occurred: after installing the latest AMD driver when I turn on the maschine the screen is way darker than it should be its like the gamma is set really low, when I turn on Radeon special settings though (which looks like the old CCC) it goes back to normal. Any idea?
