I know its probably been asked a hundred times before, but I'm looking to upgrade my monitor soon. I know I want 1440p and 144hz+ refresh rate, and I'd like to move away from a TN panel.

I've been considering both the Asus PG279Q and Acer XB271HU for that G-Sync goodness, however I've quite a few stories about bad pixels and BLB on both. I prefer the design of the Asus, but I could live with the more 'gamery' Acer if their QC is a little better.

I know they both use the same panel and QC wise are pretty much the same (at least most of the reviews I've seen said so), but has anyone recently tried/purchased either? Do they still have the same issues with dead pixels or have they improved a little since release?

From when I was looking at monitors I found that the Acer fixed a lot of the problems from the previous version of it and it has very good reviews so I would go with that one and you should be good to go since there is no guarantee that you will get a perfect monitor.
