Expandable Multi-Speaker setup for cheap?

Hi All! I'm currently using an old creative 7.1 system with four speakers added onto that via splitter. What I'm looking for is a way to split the single stereo output from my onboard audio to any number of speakers, pref without breaking the bank. I'm also looking for speakers that can be wallmounted or placed around a room, such as on shelves and such. I was wondering if there was someway to use bluetooth for the speakers on the farside of the room? I'm looking more for full room coverage then anything.
