Dedicating myself to an all out build!

Greetings LTT community!

Just joined here cause Linus says you guys are awesome at offering advice =P

Been saving up to replace an old build which recently died due to a mobo failure from not turning it on for a long time due to being overseas (Seriously why does that happen =.=)

The idea for this build is liquid cooling which I've always wanted to try. Thou I won't be going all the way with hard pipes, custom tubes etc, I do want a clean cool aesthetic.

Also, I want it to be VR ready and up-gradable.

Abit of background of my usage:

I play more CPU intensive games such as Civ 5, City Skylines etc.

I do plan to get back into WoW, Skyrim, Minecraft and a good GFX will be helpful.

Streaming/Recording games is on the list of things to do. Probably not live streaming but capture and editing.

I have dabbled in Overclocking so that's a want in my builds.

Here's what I have planned:

i7-6700k

ASUS Ranger

Kingston HyperX 2666Mhz Dual Channel 16Gb

EVGA GTX 980Ti Hybrid

Corsair H100i GTX Liquid Cooler

Samsung 950 Pro M.2 256GB

2X WD Black 3TB in Raid 0

CM Mastercase Pro 5

NZXT Hue+

The burning questions I have now:

Reviewers/Benchmarkers have been saying 2666 does give an advantage over a 2133 ram. Will this still hold true in this build?

GTX 1080s are coming out soon but it seems without the much awaited HBM. Should I just get a 970 for interim till HBM cards come out in the near future?

Pretty sure Corsair's not the only liquid cooling solution here. Does anyone have other recommendations?

Any other input/insights are well appreciated! Cheers!

Yes Skylake scales really good with memory, 3ghs is the sweetspot.

Looks solid. Make sure the ram is DDR4 and not DDR3 because skylake does not support DDR3 thats not low voltage.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Missed out the PSU haha

Keeping in mind up-gradability. Guess that's fine for a VR build
