SLI Question

So I currently have a GTX 780 in my personal rig, and am saving up for a a workstation rig of sorts. I found a GTX 780ti for cheap on my local craigslist, and am wondering if while I am waiting to buy the rest of the parts for my other computer, if I could SLI the 780 and the 780ti?

Nope. You need another gtx 780 to sli with your 780.

 

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 

138 is a good number.

Could I use the 780ti as the main card, and then use the 780 for just PhysX?

Yeah, but there won't be any significant performance gains compared to just using one 780ti, and the gains you do achieve will be offset by the increased power consumption.

even if I played games with a lot of physx?
