Did this happen and I did't know? I mean I had known that PSVR had it's specs released a little while ago but I didn't know it was on Amazon already. And it's only $400. Though it does only have a 1080p screen. Sounds kind of sketchy. Any thoughts?

I haven't been following this too much but having a VR headset for a console just sound like a bad idea,

I mean the PS4 will have to push 90fps @ 1080p constantly for a good experience which i doubt it will do,

However, it would get more people interested into VR which is a good thing.

That one you linked looks a bit weird, but yeah its on amazon. The amazon uk link looks more legit.

Its Sony, so yeah the preorder is through amazon and other game retailers.

Well it looks like this is going to be an massive fail... Get ready for nausea because you are not going to get even 60 FPS.

 

As far as I know, it works by getting 60FPS (which yes is doable, the games can hit it since they aim for it and the games usually have reduced graphics over full games or you have less in the scene) and this is reprojected up to 120FPS. It comes with an external processing unit which does some bits like 3D audio and warps the image from the stereo HMD view back to the normal TV view so it can be shown on the TV like normal, this frees up some processing power.

There is also native 120Hz and native 90Hz modes, no reprojection, but each is harder to push obviously. 

 

It does look fun and out of the current gen VR headsets, its going to be the most popular. Well that or GearVR.

Rift and Vive give much better experiences than both, but they are too expensive and have too high a barrier to entry for them to catch on for the mainstream audience, whereas having a PS4 or a Samsung phone on contract is a lot easier for the average person.
