I got 2 Gigabyte G1 980Ti.

My primary GPU dont want to use HDMI. I have tried 2 TV's and several cables, nether works on the main cards, but they work on my 2nd GPU.

Which normally would be fine, but since I'm running surround with 3 DP panels, so I'm stuck with ether HDMI or HDMI to DVI.

Do I lose much by going with HDMI to DVI?

For the TV's so dont it matter that much (testing TV's for a shop setup), but when I my 4K Samsung U28E590D, so might it make a difference since I will use it as a preview monitor during video editing (lose of resolution or colours?).

There's no difference, HDMI uses DVI for the video signal, it just has additional features like inline audio and a more modern connector shape.
