CS:GO Potato Build?

  • Budget should be as low as possible.
  • The case shouldn't make me puke.
  • Should run CS:GO at constant 75 FPS on medium to high settings at 1080p (in the worst case scenario).
  • Shouldn't make too much noise.
  • Again, the goal is to have the budget as low as possible keeping the other points in mind.
  • IT CAN'T BE MORE THAN 500 US DOLLARS!

Lower is better, the goal of the system is given.

Whoever is gonna make a build keep in mind that csgo performance fluctuates a lot, and even goes to potato on some updates.

Fine, it's shouldn't exceed 500 US Dollars at all.

yes, certain maps ruin FPS, so do we go for the 75 FPS in the worst case scenario OP?

I did say constant 75 FPS but maybe I should've elaborated it more.

Yes, worst case scenario.

Minum system Requirements:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 processor or better
CPU Speed: Info
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP
Video Card: Video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 3.0
Sound Card: Yes
Free Disk Space: 8 GB

That tells me you need a small spud of a computer to run it and a decent potato to make it run good, good news is ,,, An APU base system could run that fine.

for APU system Id go (sticking with Newegg here)

Total for that came out to 377.91 (room for 120bucks work of things so ...

For a discrete video card setup :

Spoiler

Same system as above changing the CPU, and adding a video card

AMD 870K quad core (with the newer  CPU cooler)

Either :

EVGA GTX950 2gb (currently out of stock)

or

XFX R7 370 2GB

Same everything else

Total with the R7 card (since its instock) 454,90 (give or take a buck or two)

Shipping costs were factored in.

I avoided a cheap SSD because they tend to be failures,,,,  but the second one would be way more awesome , but to save a buck or two the APU would run that game fine Im sure

Also  Didnt quote in mail in rebates since those can be a pita to  get back.

either system has  cash leg room,    if you wanted to add a fan to the case.  and or a cheap SSD.
