A capture card?????

Hello everyone,

Recently, my friend who like to makes movies asked me about a "Card Capure"

Input: SD-SDI + AES/EBU (can use analog sound signal.) It will be the best if it can include both SD-SDI and HD-SDI.

Output: AVI, MOV, MPEG, MP and other standard work with Adobe Pre.

I have no clue what he is taking about. Can anybody clarify for me? Giving me some information like: what is that card? And what is he looking for? I am really appreciate.
